ABOUT

About

At Wit & Whittle, we believe that old solutions are insufficient to addressing today's changing consumer environment.  There is a dire need for accessible and thoughtful resources to rise to the newest challenges.  But how? Adding head count for a short term or urgent need isn't always right - neither is hiring a top tier consultancy.  What's really needed are resources that can bring immediate relief with relevant perspective and resources.

Elizabeth Geri created Wit & Whittle in 2019 to address this need - to provide the insights and access she wished her teams had.  Elizabeth is a retail executive turned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience as a consultant and internal leader in the consumer space.  She's worked domestically and globally with some of the world's biggest brands including Amazon.com, Gap Inc. (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta & Intermix), Sur La Table and Booz & Company.

  • Senior Vice President, Marketing & Ecommerce, Sur La Table (housewares retailer)

Product & Brand Ideation

Early Stage Consumer Products Company (Bootstrapped)

This early stage consumer products company had brought their first product to market.  While it was generally considered to be a success, the co-founders wanted to build their next product differently.  Throughout the course of a half-day ideation session, we clarified learnings, skills, and risks.  The brand was refocused on some areas and broadened in others, enabling the co-founders to narrow their product development focus.  The relationship continues with regular coaching.

Go To Market Strategy

Early Stage Venture (Series A)

This tech start up in the Internet of Things (IoT) space had built a robust set of capabilities that could apply to a variety of industries.  They needed support developing go-to-market strategies that considered several industries, including the retail sector.  This work was done primarily onsite to provide access to the team and engineers.  After conducting industry research, ideating with the team, and gaining a better understanding of the product, we ultimately agreed that the retail sector was not the first and best proof of concept.  In doing this work, light on new ways to improve operating efficiency and communications amongst senior leaders, allowing for better alignment and increased focus on the most valuable programs.

Capabilities Analysis and Opportunity Evaluation

Early Stage Venture (Series A)

A start up in the healthcare space was interested in applying the principals of retail marketing to their users.  They’d seen enough success to know that their model worked, but wanted to know how to extend it further.  Over the course of two weeks, an audit of current systems and methodologies was conducted. Pitch decks, results, and interviews with senior leadership combined with industry research to create a robust overview of the state of the business and potential risks.  This work identified substantial opportunity to change the way the company thought about their business, enabling them to leverage retail best practices. The leadership was able to use these insights to drive their business internally – to help figure out how far to push their model.
